about me
I’m Mia, a Melbourne-based DJ with a lifelong connection to music and a genuine passion for creating the right soundtrack for every occasion.
My love for music started long before I ever stepped behind a DJ booth. I was that girl at school making mixtapes for my friends, carefully choosing every track, labelling the songs and even creating my own album covers with “DJ MIA” written across them. Looking back, I guess I was already building my DJ identity before I even knew where it would lead.
I’ve always been fascinated by the way music can shape a mood, bring people together and turn an ordinary moment into a memory.
My musical style moves across R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Disco and Afro beats, blending nostalgic favourites with timeless classics and fresh sounds. I love bringing different influences together to create sets that feel effortless, versatile and suited to the people and atmosphere in the room.
For me, DJing is about more than simply playing great songs. It’s about reading the room, understanding the energy and knowing when to let a moment build and when to take things up a level. Whether it’s a relaxed gathering, a celebration or a packed dance floor, I want the music to become part of the experience.
After years of loving music from the sidelines, I decided it was time to finally follow the dream I’d had for so long.
MUSICBYMIA is my way of sharing that passion, creating soundtracks, bringing people together and, hopefully, giving everyone a reason to dance.
